I’ve just downloaded the Chrome OS virtual machine. Very disappointing! I spent about ten minutes in it before I tried to shut it down but couldn’t find the shutdown button? My first impression from an email I wrote to a friend was this:
“Its a piece of crap! – it’s like booting into Chrome browser – and that’s about it – it doesn’t even have a shutdown button/menu???
If you’ve seen Chrome you’ve seen Chrome OS…”
Functionality like the Google synchronized bookmarks are not implemented yet. There is an option for adding Chrome extensions that is also not implemented yet.
I suppose the idea was always that Chrome OS be a browser based OS and it seems to be just that.
